Cain said to his brother Abel, Lets go into the field.

When they were out in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel.

And killed him.

Yahweh said to Cain, Where is your brother Abel? I dont know, he replied.

Am I my brothers keeper? said Cain.

Yahweh said, What have you done? The voice of your brothers blood cries to me from the ground.

Now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brothers blood from your hand. From now on, when you till the ground, it will not yield its strength to you. You shall be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth.

Cain said to Yahewh, My punishment is too great to endure. Today you have driven me from the face of the land, and from your face I am hidden. I will be a fugitive and a wanderer of the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.

Yahweh said to him, Very well, whoever slays Cain, a sevenfold vengeance will be taken on him. Yahweh set a mark on Cain, so that no one finding him would strike him down.

Cain left Yahwehs presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.
